Chris Ashton would be reportedly staying with Saracens to regain the previous glorious state in England squad with Rugby World knocking at the door. The rugby star has rejected all offers from overseas to strengthen his ties with Saracens.
According to reports, leading French clubs such as Clermont Auvergne and Racing Metro were pretty interested in Ashton as well as a top Nippon club too.
But Chris’ desire to stay back in England again post 8 months away from Test scene has been keeping the player at Sarries.
Lancaster (Stuart) has taken to Jonny May and Anthony Watson in wing roles for Six Nations RBS whilst Nowell (Jack) is pressing for inclusion into the match against Ireland.
Chris & other Saxons wings like Christian Wade and Marland Yarde, are striving for a foray into Stuart’s mind & the coach would call up over forty players for the World training group prior to naming the 31-man final squad on 31st August.
With nineteen tries from thirty-nine tests, Ashton holds higher chances of getting inducted into the team. Last year only, Chris confessed that his non-inclusion in Six Nations is killing him. Albeit his absence at Test hurts yet he has by now learnt how to tackle the very pain by concentrating on Sarries’ fight for the glory.
The popular clubs are 3rd in Premiership & are quite away to French team Racing Metro at quarter final match of Rugby Champions that is scheduled for 4th April.
“I do love to play at my club & thus I have taken this decision not to march abroad”, stated Chris.
“Last year, my absence in England team was painful & I got somehow distracted on the way. Whilst it is not at all easier yet I am quite better at keeping my disappointments aside and one simply needs to keep moving on. I am hopeful about coming up with a good performance at the Worlds.”
