While Saracens have been dancing in the glory of recent win against Sale Sharks, the team wing Ashton (Chris) is hopeful that his squad would be able to improvise to an even better position soon.
The Northern London rugby squad ran-in 3 tries to defeat the domestic rival with a 28-15 score recently. The match was hosted by Allianz Park.
Ashton’s team is just 1 point behind ASM Clermont who are in the leading position in Pool One. Saracens had a hard match with the leaders which displayed a kind of “winner-takes-all” powerplay in the 6th round. But according to one of their best players Chris, the team is yet to deliver it’s best and he is hopeful that his squad has all the potential of further improvisation and even better performance than what was witnessed at Heineken Cup loast season- where they were the runners up.
“I feel that we missed out on few tries today. there were plenty of mistakes & I strongly believe that we have some more gears within us yet”, stated Ashton while speaking on the team’s triumph against Sale Sharks.
“We are very happy with our triumph of late but we would be able to improve a lot. Its little frustrating when you can’t achieve bonus point. What I feel is that it’s our discipline that downs us again & again & it’s certainly something that requires serious hard work.”
“The result, certainly, is very positive”, he continued. “We have won the games home & away now. Hence we can jump into Premiership with 2 great results. Getting into the matches against Sharks we lost out on two on bounce & this is something which is very rare for us. Thus, it’s definitely great to get back on the winning route.”
